Even though I no longer have a tank in my new home, I still consider aquascaping a hobby & passion of mine. I personally take great pleasure in spending countless of hours looking at my scape and trimming it, I find myself at peace. This post is not about me reminiscing about the past, but on a joint contest from Aquaticquotient.com & ADA (Singapore).

I’m currently nursing myself back to health. Been down with the flu & fever and to top it all off, my throat feels like it just got sand-papered really good. I’ve acquired 6 healthy puppies which are offsprings of my chocolate & apricot poodles. I’m looking for buyers to purchase them, not at any ridiculous prices but more like an ‘adoption’ fee of sorts. In my post, I will explain in detail why.

So, you have a rather large CO2 tank and would now like to split your CO2 output. You can do so by investing in a CO2 splitter that is available at most local fish shops. The splitter can be used for a single large tank where CO2 displacement is required to be more present around both sides of the tank.

I came across this post on AquaticQuotient.com quite sometime ago and thought I’d feature this on Aquastuff. External CO2 reactors are good if you have a fairly powerful external canister filter or powered by an external pump and will dissolve even better if your external reactor is connected to a chiller unit. The only drawback with an external reactor is that, if you do not connect it well and tight enough, you can expect a flooded room. Anyways, if you’re pumped up to create your own external CO2 reactor, read on!

This post is in-relation to my earlier post, Planning for a new tank.. So far I’ve gathered the following items that I will be needing and have a rough estimate on the total overhead.
These are just the hardware items, I’ve yet to include in the tank and the cabinet and the filtration. I’m wondering if I decommision my tank over at my parent’s place, I can get the two Eheim 2028 filters or should I purchase a new Eheim Pro 3E filter?

I think I’ve mentioned this before, to have a new tank however this tank will be for my new home which will be ready early 2008.
I’m thinking of going with a two or four feet tank, customized or maybe ADA. Along with this tank, I’m thinking whether should I go ahead with T5HOs or 2 x 150W MH lamps with maintenance T5HO or PL lights. Along with this, I’m going to purchase Teco TR15 chiller. I’ll be going ahead with having a full ADA substrate.
I’m still thinking about lots of things like what should the scape look like. I’ll post more details once things are more or less decided and confirmed.

Apologies for the lack of posts lately, been rather busy with work. Good enough that I still have time to maintain the tank.
I’m thinking of having another rescape but…. with the amount of work that I have, I might have to skip that as rescapes normally take a good 1-2 days for my tank.
I’ve removed most of the Hemianthus micranthemoides away, almost half of its original clump is gone, measuring it, it was almost 1 meter in length (3 feet). Also, I’ve shifted the entire Echinodorus rubins to where the Hemianthus micranthemoides once rooted in. The Blyxa japonica was also removed and thrown away. It was a rather huge clump.

Chewy, the latest addition. We purchased Chewy on the 3 August 2007. A toy poodle, chocolate in color, I found his advert on Mocca.com and showed it to my wife.
