Carl Zeiss has launched the Distagon T* 2/35 ZE wide-angle lens in Canon EF mount, for both analog and digital EOS SLRs. This manual focus lens, with its large f2 aperture, is made up of 9 elements in 7 groups. Previously available in ZF (Nikon), ZK (Pentax) and ZS (M42 screw mount), the ZE mount version will start shipping from November 16 2009.

Bought this baby from a Club Snap forummer, it’s quite a well-used copy, with a bit of dings here and there but its razor sharp. Sharper than my previous Sigma 1.4/50mm! It’s a full manual focus lens. Photos so far has the legendary Zeiss factor, film like & contrasty. Can’t wait to try the “3-D” oomph with the superb bokeh effect.
