Little black puppies.

Poodle pup, day 1I’m currently nursing myself back to health. Been down with the flu & fever and to top it all off, my throat feels like it just got sand-papered really good. I’ve acquired 6 healthy puppies which are offsprings of my chocolate & apricot poodles. I’m looking for buyers to purchase them, not at any ridiculous prices but more like an ‘adoption’ fee of sorts. In my post, I will explain in detail why.

First of all, if you want to view more photos of the puppies, you can view them at my Flickr! site, its a set titled, Peaches & Pups. There you will be able to find their names, sex & photos dating back to their day of birth to their current state.

So anyways, my female poodle (Peaches) gave birth to the first pup (Bella – Female) on 3 January 2009 at 6-odd-A.M, during this phase, she strained for the next 3 hours to give birth to the 2nd born (Domo – male), as my wife and I watched Peaches whine, yelp, cry out in pain, we called the vet (Dr. Thiru) for advise and he informed us to bring Peaches in for an emergency C-section. With anxiety and for the fear of losing any undelivered pup or even our Peaches, we rushed down and placed Peaches in the hands of Dr. Thiru. He informed us to go for coffee and come back in the next hour or so. So that’s exactly what we did.

An hour passed by and we headed back to the vet and was pleasantly greeted by a grand total of 6 puppies and strangely all of them were as dark as midnight itself. Considering the stud is of a chocolate colour and the dam an apricot color, nonetheless we were happy that all of them made it out alive. *REWIND* When we first brought Peaches in to verify that she is indeed pregnant, Dr. Thiru said he could feel 3 puppies…. now we have 6….

So, they’ve been nursing very well, growing up and just being plain naughty.

Currently, we’re looking to sell the puppies to folks who will be responsible into the care of the puppy(s). For would-be owners, we would like to arrange meet-ups (not to do any spot checks of sorts) to know that the pup is happy and growing well.

The cost of a puppy is priced at S$1,500 which is negotiable. Pet shops normally price poodle pups at S$1,800 and above (just as a comparison).

Now, why the cost of S$1,500 per pup. Here’s the break-down of sorts.

  • C-section of Peaches taken into cost (S$600 is what I paid for)
  • All 3 vaccinations will be done + de-worming.
  • Microchipping of the puppy
  • Food, medication, care, time factored in. (Taking care of 6 puppies is no joke, food wise (cost) too.)
  • Both parents are pedigree poodles (no defects) – Stud was imported from S.Korea & dam is of a local breed (pedigree parents)

So at S$1,500 neg. it’s pretty much a steal. Pictures don’t really do justice to how the puppies look like, you’re always invited to my place to check the puppies out and of course to handle and play with them.

If you do have responsible friends or family members who’s interested in getting a poodle (Singapore) as a pet for a lifetime, all you’ll need to do is to direct them to my post and contact me at blog[at]aquastuff[dot]org to discuss further. I would also give my contact number.

Always take this into consideration before committing to purchasing a pet. “It’s not for the moment, its for a lifetime.”
