BlackBerry Bold 9650 - un-boxing done by CrackBerry.com. The new Bold 9650 comes with pre-'installed' with a 512MB internal memory and expandable to 32GB via a microSD card. The Bold 9650 will probably only hit Singapore's shores in the next couple of months later. It looks like the Micro-Four-Thirds (MFT) cameras are now becoming a trend amongst the amateur photographer. Compact in size with the option of interchangeable lenses, not only is this light on your shoulders but lighter on your wallet too. The camera will come as part of a kit, with the newly announced LUMIX G VARIO 14-42mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH/MEGA O.I.S. (that's a mouthful) lens. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced. In terms of specifications, both cameras are essentially identical - the NEX-5 gets a slightly smaller magnesium alloy body and 1080i AVCHD movie recording but in ever other respect they're the same. A mount adapter will be available, giving the ability to use Sony and Minolta Alpha-mount lenses. The LA-EA1 adapter will have a motor to control the lens aperture but nothing to driving the autofocus (they can't currently focus SSM and SAM lenses with built-in focus motors either). So you're on a shoe-string budget but love taking macro shots of insects, grains of rice, flowers or just about anything that is blown up 0.5 times larger than what it exactly is to the human eye? I only found this out after purchasing my Tamron AF 90mm f/2.8 Macro lens, to be honest, on a personal level, I find this setup a little daunting. This post is not aquastuff related but its too funny to give it a miss. I laughed so hard I teared. Tried my best to control my laughter in the office.
Here’s a quick shot of my tank.
I just purchased 2 pairs of discus, both pairs are breeding couples. Here are a few mug shots that I took of them after acclimatizing them. All four of them are roughly at 6 inches in diameter. 
By the way, this brings the total discus population to 13. 
I purchased a penang eruption (PE) discus last night from a forumer at AquaRealms (AR). Priced at S$30, this PE was pretty much let go at a steal. After acclimatizing it for 45 minutes, I finally let it go in my tank and it was swimming well although signs of stress were evident. Anyways, I checked again this morning and all is well. Here’s a photo of the PE discus taken last night.
I’ll be getting 5 more discus from an AQ member to be added to my tank. With this new addition, this will bring the discus population to a total of 13. Would this be a wise choice. Currently I am unsure about the discus population:tank size ratio alas after hoping to google my answer, I’m at a dead end with little information on this. But with common sense, the same logic would be put into place when you should have a tank jam-packed with fauna in a small confined area.
“Small area + lots of fish = stunted growth”.

I’ve been rather busy with work ever since coming back to work from the 1 week in-camp-training. Anyways, as mentioned in my earlier post. I have made several amendments to the tank and now, with this in place, it seems that the flora are doing much better.
After a week of enjoying myself, I’m back, facing reality. 
I’ve updated a bit of my tank as well. I’ll update shortly with a post.
