Apologies for the lack of updates lately, been rather busy with work actually. The four pearl pigeons are doing exceptionally well and have been actively moving about and of course rushes to be first in queue to have their daily meals.

It’s rather soothing to see that all of the discus (old & new) are living well together with a bit of bickering here and there. The alpha male definitely shows his authority, especially during feeding time. The tank is currently establishing itself well however I’ve yet to plant the new foreground plants ever since my school of rummy noses finished off the original idea of having a hemianthus callitrichoides foreground. Come to think of it, I have other additions to the tank in terms of flora additions.

I’ll be adding more hairgrass pretty soon and doing some trimmings as well. One discovery that I have found out recently is the following.

As most of you know, having mosses + siamese algae eaters (SAE) is a big “no-no”, SAEs will strip down your beautiful mosses in a day or two, however one thing I found out is that, the peacock moss that I have, the SAEs apparently either detest its taste or its too hard for them to chew down. Compared to my taiwan moss that I have, the peacock moss is flourishing very well. Another point that I must take note is this, to get more peacock moss to replace the once-flourishing taiwan moss.

As another update to this site, I’ll be scanning the Eden 501 manual soon and will be uploading it up as well. I’ll post an annoucement once this is done.

Oh yeah, I’ll follow up with a photo of the tank soon too.
