The NEX series will initially comprise two cameras - the NEX-5 and NEX-3. In terms of specifications, both cameras are essentially identical - the NEX-5 gets a slightly smaller magnesium alloy body and 1080i AVCHD movie recording but in ever other respect they're the same.
A mount adapter will be available, giving the ability to use Sony and Minolta Alpha-mount lenses. The LA-EA1 adapter will have a motor to control the lens aperture but nothing to driving the autofocus (they can't currently focus SSM and SAM lenses with built-in focus motors either). We have no pricing for the ...

DIY Project: Macro lens on a shoe string budget.
So you're on a shoe-string budget but love taking macro shots of insects, grains of rice, flowers or just about anything that is blown up 0.5 times larger than what it exactly is to the human eye?
I only found this out after purchasing my Tamron AF 90mm f/2.8 Macro lens, to be honest, on a personal level, I find this setup a little daunting. It takes patience and well, even more patience to get the setup correct.
If you're game for it, read the rest of the DIY project at the following site: http://www.diyphotography.net/macro-on-a-budget-or-back-to-back-couplers

I’ve purchased four new pearl pigeons, loosely-labelled as a “baby face” discus strain. by the shop’s owner. Their body shapes are not of the conventional discus, sporting a higher fin and a more oval shape to the body.
Although not champion breeds costing a bomb, these were rather nice and thought they’ll add more variety to the current lot that I have. Read the rest of this entry »
Sorry for the lack of updates during the past few days. Been out celebrating the Chinese New Year holidays with lots of food, gambling and giving out of red-packets.
Wednesday blues are hitting me today as it is the first day back to work after a long holiday break. I’m still so sleepy. Read the rest of this entry »

12 days since my major rescape. The hemianthus callitrichoides (H.C) is spreading but my red noses are starting to take a liking to the taste of the young leaves/shoots. It’s a little disappointing as I have always wanted to have the H.C lawn.
Anyways, should that fail, I will convert the lawn to a hairgrass lawn. The current batch of hairgrass is spreading very quickly now with the E.I regime I am following. I’ll just need to fluff up its surroundings to siphon up the bits of gunk/pieces of moss/etc trapped inbetween the blades. Read the rest of this entry »
I’ve added in a white paper downloads segment (located on the right). The segment will hold PDF & word document files for different manuals and read-ups and of course can be downloaded for your personal use.

After a week of fertilization, I have done the first water-change. Siphoned up loose moss and junk. The hemianthus callitrichoides “cuba” (H.C) is started to spread out, also the eleocharis ”parvula” is beginning to spread out and the damaged plants, recovering. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s already a nuisance to me to receive spam e-mails, what’s worse is a combination of spam comments that I have to moderate on the blog prior to its migration. Now, to combat ‘comment-spam’ on wordpress, I’ve installed a captcha! verification module for wordpress. What this does is that it prevents ‘non-humans’ from leaving comments down, A.K.A spam-bots. This is also to removes the un-neccessary moderation mode of the comments. Read the rest of this entry »
Currently I have some yamato shrimps, however I wonder if I should buy some cherry & malayans, will they end up becoming discus food because of their size.
7 days after the rescape, the water has cleared up significantly. Here are the photos. I’ve also added the additional shots into the SNAPS! gallery for your viewing pleasure. Not the best photos because its taken with my Sony Ericsson P990i.
You can visit the SNAPS! gallery by clicking either the link at the top right of this site or by clicking here.
I’m very interested to purchase some MH lighting sets from delightings.com. The fact that these lights consume lesser wattage but are much brighter than my current T5 lightings is a plus point.
I’ll need to firstly, work out the cost and to also find out if 2 x 150W MH sets are sufficient for my five footer. I’ll post more details on the specifications soon.
The transfer of the entire blog’s contents from my server is a complete success. All content/photos & data files are now on the hosting server that aquastuff.org is on. I currently have, 35GB of diskspace and unmetered bandwidth!
The only problem I had with the transfer was the deletion of all the spam comments, a total of 17MB of text data (try saving a text file with a few paragraphs, that’ll probably equate to 30KB, imagine 17MB worth of text) Read the rest of this entry »
I’ve decided to give aquastuff its own permanent home. I’ve signed up for a domain name and hosting package and will be transferring everything to its new home.
*Although I have my own hosting server(s), I’ve decided to host this elsewhere instead, there are a few reasons behind this.
I just purchased four six ten yamato shrimps. I’m currently acclimatizing them to the tank’s temperature. That’ll probably take a good 45 to 60 minutes.
After a gruelling 12 hours of back breaking work (which lasted from Friday till the wee-hours of Saturday morning), my major overhaul is done and completed. My arms, legs, back and all the different major muscle groups are aching pretty badly.
I’ll post more details when I can, my arms are still aching, the fact that I am going for my R.T (Army Remedial Training for the physical fitness test) isn’t helping me recover from all the aches and pains that I am currently facing.
TANK PHOTO UPDATE Sorry for the poor photo quality, I’m using my Sony Ericsson P990i as my camera now.
P/S: By the way, I’ve been chosen to be a moderator of Aquatic Quotient. I feel that this is an achievement
**I have the following items up for sale after my rescape. If you are interested, you can head down to AquaticQuotient’s forum to show your interest for my sale! All the plants are algae-free and very healthy.
