Not that many read what I write on my Aquablog. But thought I’d just post this up.

I was rather busy and converted my entire tank into a low-tech, non-CO2 tank. I even decommisoned the entire chiller unit. Reason being, my big day with my significant half. Yes, I am now a married man and since we’ve gone through with our wedding vows and honeymoon as well I can go back to the aquatic scene again. :)

The new layout will be based on one of Oliver Knott’s tank design (I’ve always been a fan of his work – infact I think his designs/layouts are rather unique & better off than Amano’s)

My stipulate date-of-change will commence, 2 February 2007. I intend to do this earlier, however due to my office relocation to IBM CBP, I will need to hold back.

Anyways, on my shopping list:

  • Bog wood (saw a really nice one near my place)
  • Windelov ferns
  • Hairgrass
  • E. Tenellus
  • Nanas
  • Taiwan Moss
  • Nice lava rocks
  • Top-up of CO2 tank

I expect to spend an estimate of SGD$85-100 for this upgrade of mine.

To show you the layout I will be adapting from Oliver Knott.

Design #1 – based on Oliver Knott’s work for a 500l tank
Design #2 – based on his most recent work Hmm… I might just go for Design #2… well, we’ll see.
